Spore is finally, almost, upon us. We had a chance to play the full version at this year’s E3, but on Sunday, players around the world will discover what happens when a game of epic scope and unparalleled ambition actually lives up to years of hype. Most players will be content to create a spastic race of brightly colored Muppets, or a more random, dog’s breakfast of spiny bits and oddly placed eye-stalks, and dutifully grind through the various stages of the game.
spore is potentially the best and original game to come out in a long time.
Once again, Polyphony has produced what looks like the mother of all console racing simulators with the upcoming Gran Turismo HD (or GT5, or whatever). This simulator will only be available on the Sony PS3.
What is the Entropia Universe?
The Entropia Universe is more than a game. The Entropia Universe is for real. Real people, real activities and a Real Cash Economy in a massive online universe.
Join people from around the globe who use the Entropia Universe currency, the PED, to develop their characters everyday on the untamed planet of Calypso. The unique and secure Real Cash Economy allows you to transfer your accumulated PED back into real world funds.
Online around the clock for decades to come, the Entropia Universe is continually enhanced with new content every month and supported by the Entropia Universe Support Department.
The Entropia Universe is a direct continuation of Project Entropia, which had a 2005 turnover of 1.6 Billion PED (160M$).
What is truly remarkable is the CryTek Engine which is able to depict the virtual universe extremely well.
If you’d browse my World News feeds (look for it on the top menu) you’d find some news of my own selection. One interesting news is iPod selling a million videos in 20 days. This is perhaps an important piece of news for the likes of aspiring online media companies. Currently the you can buy & download music videos and TV series like “Desperate Housewives” and “Lost” for $1.99 a piece. Not sure how big the one million downloads is in relation to the size of the iPod market.
The iPod is fast becoming an insanely great product from Apple. Competitors and aspirants need to scramble quickly to get a slice of the market pie before Apple or some other player controls the market. I believe even our own local players can get in the game.
It has been a while since I last really played any form of computer games, be in on the PS2, or on the PC. The last one I really enjoyed was Champions of Norrath and its sequel Return to Arms – both for the PS2. These games were given an 8.5 (great) and 7.8, respectively by Gamespot. Sony doing a great job on RPG games of late.
I was just browsing Happy Puppy to see of what are the upcoming interesting games, and chanced upon Fable: The Lost Chapters for the PC & XBox. This is an RPG with a twist in that the character you play can be moulded into as much of a do-gooder or a devil’s idle hand. It has been given an 8.7 (out of 10) score with an “M – Mature” ESRB rating.
Interesting. Might just try it out soon… but if only I have more time on my hands.
